Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked sushi rice
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup imitation crab meat, shredded
  • ½ cup Japanese mayonnaise (Kewpie)
  • ¼ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup sriracha sauce (optional, for spice)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 sheet nori (seaweed), cut into strips
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare Sushi Rice: In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Fold into cooked sushi rice and set aside.
Make Crab Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine shredded crab meat, Japanese mayonnaise, cream cheese, and sriracha (if using). Mix well.
Layer the Dish: Spread the sushi rice evenly in a baking dish. Top with the crab mixture, spreading it evenly over the rice.
Add Cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the crab layer.
Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish: Remove from the oven and top with nori strips, sesame seeds, and green onions.
Serve: Scoop onto plates or serve with seaweed sheets for wrapping.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use real crab meat instead of imitation crab.
  • Adjust sriracha to taste for spiciness.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
