Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of brie (8-12 ounces)
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries or apricots
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed Optional
  • 1 egg, beaten (for puff pastry glaze) Optional
  • Crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the brie: If using puff pastry, roll it out on a lightly floured surface. Place the brie in the center, and top with honey, nuts, and dried fruit.
Wrap and seal: Fold the puff pastry over the brie, trimming any excess, and brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake: Place the brie (wrapped or unwrapped) on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the cheese is soft.
Serve: Let the baked brie rest for 5 minutes before serving with crackers, bread, or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, skip the puff pastry and bake the brie with the toppings directly on top.
  • Experiment with different toppings like fig jam, caramelized onions, or fresh herbs.
